Free initial advice

Every case starts with a free, no-obligation telephone conversation. We will give you an honest view of your situation — and if we cannot help, we will point you towards someone who can.

  • No obligation
  • No hard sell

What the free call covers

We will discuss your matter with you over the telephone and advise you on:

  • Whether we can help
  • How we can help
  • What the costs are likely to be
  • Whether you have options as to how to proceed
  • Who you can contact if we cannot help you

We will not charge you for this initial advice. If we believe you could benefit from our help, we will tell you how — and what difference we may make to the matter — with an estimate of our likely costs. We will email or text you our details so you can take your time to make an informed decision. We are not hard sell, and we are very happy for you to speak to other firms before deciding who to instruct.

The difference between free advice, a consultation and representation

The free initial call tells you where you stand and what your options are. If your case needs detailed advice on the papers, we will agree a fixed fee for an initial conference — bespoke advice on plea and likely outcome after reviewing your case papers. If you then want us to act for you, we agree a fee for each stage of the proceedings, confirmed in writing before any work begins. Detailed case preparation is never part of the free call.

What happens if you instruct us

  1. Send us your paperwork

Email or post the documentation you have received about your case, so we can prepare before your appointment.

  2. Telephone or in-person consultation

A conference at a time to suit you — evenings and weekends included — or a meeting at a time and place convenient for you.

  3. Written advice

After the consultation we provide written advice clearly stating your instructions, our advice, your options and the likely costs.

  4. Contact on your terms

We only contact you when we need to discuss further matters — by your preferred method, at times convenient to you.
