Training on motoring offences
We have designed and presented training on motoring offences, disqualification and penalty points to many organisations — from accountants to insurance companies — always tailored to the people in the room.
Last reviewed: 2 August 2026
The aim
To give drivers — and employers of drivers — a sound understanding of prevalent road traffic offences and how to deal with them. Attendees gain:
- An awareness of basic road traffic offences
- Familiarity with the penalty points system
- The ability to identify when a disqualification may be an issue
- An understanding of when to involve a specialist motoring lawyer
What the sessions are like
Road traffic law can be a dry subject, so we make the presentations interesting, relevant and interactive — and we have many stories to tell from our own experience. Feedback has always been very positive. Sessions normally last between one and two hours, or as long as you require.
The kinds of questions we answer
- Will I get a speed awareness course if I travel at 40mph in a 30mph zone?
- If I do not know who was driving my car when it went through a red light, am I guilty of an offence?
- If I am stationary in a traffic jam, can I use my mobile phone?
- If I sneeze and crash into someone, have I done anything wrong?
- If someone laces my drink without my knowledge and I am over the limit, am I guilty of drink driving?
- I reversed into someone in a car park and scuffed their bumper — do I have to report it to the police?
- I take prescribed drugs — will I be prosecuted for drug driving?
Cost
This depends on the content, duration, your location and your budget — agreed with you before the session.
